Rachel Scheinfeldt was born in New York and grew up in Pennsylvania. Her current work is predominantly in the medium of b+w silver gelatin photography and cast bronze sculptures, where she creates and realizes every step of the process from beginning to end. She earned a BFA in Sculpture and a MARCH in Architecture both from the Rhode Island School of Design. Rachel completed a seven month artist residency in the Negev Desert that culminated in the exhibition of her work in the Arad Museum and Givatayim Theater in Israel. She has also exhibited her work in the Hillel Gallery, Arcade Gallery and Woods-Gerry Gallery in Providence, RI, Red Light- CONTACT Photography Festival at the Lonsdale Gallery in Toronto, Canada, Pingyao Photography Festival, China, the Ice Box Gallery, the Gravy Studio + Gallery, PhilaMOCA, PL130 Gallery and Anne Bryan Gallery in Philadelphia, PA and the Abington Art Center in Abington, PA where she was awarded the Beatrice Feldman Memorial Award. Rachel has lived in Stockholm, Sweden and currently lives and works in Philadelphia.
